He is a music producer and has been making music since his teenage years. He’s made the majority of SUPER★
DRAGON's songs since their major debut, including NPC, Dark Heroes, Concealer, etc. Other artists Jean has composed music for include the j-idol group ICEx. Fellow vocalists Tsuyoshi, Hyoma, Koki, and Tomoya would often go to Jean’s house to make SUPER★DRAGON's music ”on his bunk bed”. Since 2025, Jean now has his own studio that he rents out with a couple of his friends.

Jean is active as a solo artist under the name “jjean”, making (hyper)pop and r&b music. He cites joji, brakence, and keshi as some of his favorite artists and inspirations. Although he mostly takes the music making role in the group, he also loves fashion and will sometimes handle SUPER★DRAGON's outfits, such as with Concealer or NPC. He has released two EPs so far: Acclimation (2024), and Perfect Pair (2025).

His father is Turkish and his mother is Japanese. He lived in Turkey for four years when he was a child. He took English classes when he was 17 and can speak basic English, but is not yet able to speak Turkish fluently. The Turkish lyrics in his songs are usually translated for him by his dad.

He stylizes his stage name as “Jean Kayto”, but typically it would be written as “Can Kaito”. Both names are his given names, and his surname is unknown. The name “Can” means “soul/life” in Turkish, while the Japanese kanji that make up 海渡 (Kaito) are “sea” and “crossing”. According to Jean’s parents, he was named with the hopes of his “soul carrying across the seas”.

Jean is the mood-maker of the group and is usually the one to make everyone laugh. Despite his class clown personality and being known as a prankster however, he is actually somewhat of a scaredy cat and is deathly afraid of bugs, heights, and riding rollercoasters. He is also not a “party person” and “really can’t handle being in crowds”.

His hobby is playing basketball and being out in nature (despite there being bugs there). He's somewhat of a workaholic. During DRA FES 2024, he performed and sang SUPER DRAGON’s Ai Kotoba in Turkish, with lyrics translated by his father.

In 2017, Jean, along with fellow member Tsuyoshi, independently started a joint instagram account called tsuyojean_official out of their shared love for fashion. Jean has been modeling since he was young, and he often jokes that he's been "working since 0 years old" as his first "gig" was as a 3 month old baby for a magazine.
Him and Tsuyoshi gained popularity as a modeling duo and would appear in magazines and runways together, often credited as “tsuyojean” together as one unit.

The both of them have since made individual instagram accounts and are now more focused on making music, thus updates on this account are now quite rare. They will still (very) occasionally post on it however, as the two have gone on record to say that the account is like "their home". Tsuyoshi and Jean’s fashion tastes tend to overlap, and they are often seen wearing matching clothing items and accessories.

Aside from fashion, they are very "linked musically" and often compose songs together, which is something they've been doing since they were teenagers. They consider each other "partners" (in crime).

My favorite member along with Tsuyoshi. Basically, when I found out he was the main person responsible for making the group’s music and that he has soundcloud hyperpop roots, I fell in love with him. It’s crazy how good he is at everything he does, rapping, singing, making music… It all seems so effortless to him. And yes, maybe I'm a little attached to him because he's from a Muslim majority country, alright, okay. My recommended must watch Jean performance is his cover of Koki’s AI KOTOBA, which he performed in Turkish (with lyrics translated by his father) during DRA FES 2024. It makes my heart burst every time.
